Firefox Extension: URL Navigator

2004/12/14

The URL Navigator is something I would never have asked for, but now that it’s there, I find it quite useful. It is best explained by an example:

Imagine you have one of these web sites with these typical dynamic URLs ending on ?id=123. These are usually created by some script on the server side, using a database on the backend. If you are a web author or a developer or just some curious guy, you might want to systematically navigate through all available entries, from ?id=1 to ?id=...9999. URL Navigator tries to understand the dynamic part of a URL and allows you to navigate “Up” and “Down” these pages by clicking buttons in the browser toolbar.

For me, this simplified testing of some database-backed web pages. Go, give it a try and browse russian posters from 1 to 955.
